DESIGNER PROFILE

Chris Pearson

Details:

The Tui is one of New Zealand's iconic birds, much admired for its exuberant behaviour. Their iridescent plumage was greatly valued by early Maori, and European settlers called the Tui the 'Parson Bird' because of the tufts of snow white feathers under its throat.

The feathers on your Tui are designed in the shape of the Koru - an integral symbol in Maori art representing new life, growth and peace.

This Tui is free standing and looks lovely on a bookshelf, or several as a flock in your garden.

The 'Tui' is Chris Pearsons first foray into design. Pearson originally worked as an architect, but he also has an art practice. His paintings, drawings and collages are exhibited in New Zealand public and dealer galleries.
