Brasil Light

DESIGNER PROFILE

Kevin Webby

Details:

‘Brasil’ (Portuguese spelling) is derived from the Brazilian national flag. “I love the flair and exuberance of the South Americans and saw an opportunity to play with the repeated plane idea again as used in the Lady Jane lamp.

Brasil looks really good scaled up and is able to be slightly modified” says designer Kevin Webby.

Brasil is enjoyed by architects due to its minimalist, symmetrical design and repetition of form.

From a design incubator established by David Trubridge, has emerged exciting design talent.

Foremost among them is Kevin Webby. Kevin chooses to work with sustainable materials in producing contemporary furniture and lighting for indoor and exterior environments.
Kevin’s furniture, using solid timber, stainless steel and plywood is distinctive and organic in feel. The Pacific Ray Bench Seat echoes in stylistic form, when viewed square on, the rise of a stingray from it’s sea bottom rest. The shaping invites caress and reserve.
