Bob Steiner is a renowned New Zealand ceramic artist specialising in sculpturally designed forms that offer a unique twist for interior design.
Steiner has been working with clay since he was a teenager, getting his own wheel when he was only fifteen. He went on to study pottery and sculpture at Elam Art School at the University of Auckland.
His work was selected as a finalist for the Designed Objects section of the Best Design Awards , and later Essenze displayed this work at the International

Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York in May 2008.
He is currently based in Avondale in Auckland where works from a custom built studio and continues to develop his range of ceramics.
His range includes both functional and ornamental pieces. Steiner is well known for his decorative wall pieces with design featuring plants and birds. He also designs jugs and coffee mugs in a range of contemporary colours and styles.

Recently he has designed a range of ceramic lamp bases that are finished in a beautiful satin glaze.

native New Zealand bird also known as the Fantail. His design captures the flitting, friendly nature of the cheeky Fantail.
