stride into spring

Our handsome 'Pukeko Kete' on our homepage strides strong and proud. We think he actually looks as though he is in downtown New York, calling 'taxi'. Pukeko Kete, by Beatrice Carlson, replaces our Pukeko Comme Blue, our previous Pukeko in residence. The previous ltd edition of 5 that saw many customers very sad having missed out on purchasing him. Now is your chance......Pukeko Kete is another ltd edition of 5, so view soon......

The confidence of this iconic bird and the striking colours are enhanced by Beatrice Carlson's stunning sensitivity of colour and light. The magical Kingfisher shown here displays colours and form that makes you want to reach out and touch it....

We are not the only ones with a bird obsession: in Venice, Italy, the piazza was filled with coloured pigeons, decorated for the Venice Biennale. We are not too sure what the pigeons thought of this, but the result was curiously stunning.

Anyhow, spring is on its way for us down-under, and we are very ready for it. To celebrate, we have installed a wall of birds into essenze, everything from a vinyl design by our very own Katy McIntyre, to ceramic birds by Steiner Studio and new product by Native Creative, showing delicately screen printed fantails, tui and kereru.

Add the colourful stools by Birchwood Design, Shane Hansen screened lampshade and throw in a bright colours Cloud rug....and you are in a feast of colour setting you in the mood for spring.
