Upon completing a Diploma of Applied Arts, majoring in Glass and Jewellery from Northland Polytechnic in Whangarei, New Zealand, Lynden rented a local glass studio where he began to develop an original range of collectable art glass. In 2002 Lynden relocated with his family to Taupo, where he established his glass blowing studio, Lava Glass. 

Influenced by the natural environment around him, Lynden's work is both striking in colour and form, and ranges from large platters to bowls, perfume bottles and vases.
