SeaT. A uniquely New Zealand design collaborative inspired by the rituals and experience of eating by the sea.

The sea, evocative companion to all New Zealanders has been the inspiration behind SeaT. A force that has driven a diverse group of New Zealand designers to work collaboratively on a project, focused on capturing the shapes, textures, emotions and sensations of the seaside.

Designed with sensitivity to the importance of the food occasion, the SeaT range is about bringing people together to share food, stories and experiences -  to learn and to play, and most importantly to enjoy life.

Through the initiative of David Trubridge, drawing on his expertise, and working with designers utilising glass, ceramic, wood, metal or textile, the brief was to recreate the experience and ritual of sharing food by the sea.

What has sprung is a cohesive collection, designed and made in New Zealand from sustainable high quality material, with permanence and timelessness in mind.
